Find out about our company history, philosophy, products

Spend some time finding out about us. (Hint: Start by exploring our highly informative web site!) It can give you valuable information about the direction we are headed and the people you might be working with. And you should probably know that we make sausage.

Develop a solid presentation

Developing a good presentation will not only make you more organized, it will also help you feel more confident when interviewing. Practice that firm handshake and friendly smile!

Practice answering impromptu questions

Have a friend or family member ask you some random job-related questions. Answering can help you feel better prepared for questions an interview team might ask. (But you should know that answering “What would you say is your greatest weakness?” with “I’m too much of a perfectionist!” or “I go overboard when it comes to being a selfless team player!” is sooo old.)

Be up front and concise about your answers

Respond to interviewers’ questions with clear, easy to understand answers. Practicing your responses to likely questions can be a big help here.

Make eye contact with your interviewers

Looking your interviewers’ in the eyes assures them your attention is focused directly on them. (Although if a tray of beautifully grilled brats pass by the interview room on its way to the lunchroom, it’s totally okay to be distracted by them.)

Be prepared to ask some meaningful questions at the end of the interview

When an interviewer asks you if you have any questions, it is your opportunity to find out important facts about the daily routines, interactions, and even hassles they have everyday. (Hint: But save questions such as “So, how many days off do we get?” for later.)

Give clear examples of your ability to work on a team

Because Johnsonville’s culture is based so much upon teamwork, any examples of your ability to function in a team environment will help interviewers better understand how you would fit into our team.
